The article concerns controversies about nuclear energy, which appeared in the media as a consequence of the breakdown in nuclear power plant Fukushima in Japan. First the author discusses questions concerned two important breakdowns in the nuclear power plants in the USA and Soviet Union (Three Mile Island and Chernobyl). In the subsequent passage, the author analyses television debate in which participated two experts of the energy sector. The subject of the conversation was breakdown in Japanese nuclear power plant caused by massive earthquake. The experts presented two opposing points of view on the course and possible consequences of the breakdown.
