The article is concerned with the ways of the mentions functioning in the contemporary specialized press. Classical mention consists of title and short body notifying about the single fact or event. In contemporary press the mentions are rarely treated as an independent announcement, because they are used as: (a) lead in the guide statement which has a shape of news; (b) satellite text completing the guide statement; (c) text that announces some press materials; (d) part of the guide statement’s body; (e) constellation of the statements, that are part of a constant column. The mentions are currently one of the most dynamic press genre. Their metamorphoses show, how you can make an impression of continuous changes, using some simple editorial tricks.
