Grażyna Piechota: Media in the "risk society"

The article considers the analysis of the "risk society" - scientific theory created by Ulrich Beck in the context of presenting the role of the mass media in this type of society. The theory in question refers to the changing attitudes of the actors in the social, economic and political area in the postindustrial society and presumes the "risk society" to be a radicalization of postindustrial society. The radicalization process of that society results from focusing on the less or more likely to occur threats. Searching for the dependence between the information transfer and the consumers` behaviors, based on the information and their attitudes, it is seeking for the answers to the question concerning the responsibility of the people who participate in the process of creation and information transfer for the contents and the attitudes, as a result.
